As a Global Supply Manager for CAPEX, you will have the opportunity to gain deep functional knowledge about battery manufacturing processes and establish relationships with strategic equipment suppliers. This role has broad scope which will allow you to develop new skills, while contributing your functional expertise to benefit the company. You will be responsible for negotiating multi-million dollar contracts that will improve the economics of battery production to enable mass-market electrification of electric vehicles and stationary energy storage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the capital equipment sourcing strategy to enable in-house manufacturing capabilities
  • Establish relationships with strategic equipment suppliers, gaining a deep understanding of their pipeline and growth plans
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts and provide justification for award of business to executive leadership team
  • Perform quantitative analysis of equipment purchases, including total cost of ownership assessment, to identify the financial impacts of decisions
  • Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for this spend category, tracking cost, delivery timelines, and quality
  • Work with technical team to determine equipment specifications
  • Influence internal decisions that will support our growth trajectory
  • Anticipate, mitigate, and avoid potential potential pitfalls that could impact project delivery
  • Communicate the status of projects and identify potential blockers that might affect delivery schedule

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of purchasing or supplier management experience of complex hardware products
  • Ability to understand and interpret CAD drawings and schematics to ensure accurate quoting and compliance with guidelines
  • Experience negotiating supply agreements, including pricing, delivery timelines, and risk contingencies
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design and production operations
  • BS/MS in engineering, business administration, or other technical field
  • MBA or functional understanding of strategic business concepts and their real-world applications
