We are looking for a chemical hygienist to ensure compliance with DOT, Cal/OSHA, and requirements of other regulatory bodies.

Description

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules regarding use, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Perform, oversee, and monitor inventorying, labeling, and segregation of laboratory chemicals.
  • Generate and maintain waste profiles.
  • Act as a resource for lab staff and other personnel regarding development of SOPs, safe working practices, design of engineering controls, selection and correct use of PPE and other aspects of safe work with chemicals.
  • Ensure maintenance of and compliance with HMBP.
  • Position may also include development of HMBP and overseeing bring-up of new labs and facilities.
  • Participate in and promote safety culture across lab and company.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience working in laboratory or industrial environments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Congenial and friendly relationship with coworkers.
  • Ability to lift, squat, and kneel.
  • Computer skills including using email, creating and editing spreadsheets and documents in G-Suite and MS Office.
  • Comfort using specialized lab management software.
  • Experience managing direct reports desired.
  • HAZWOPER desired.
  • OSHA 10 or 40 hr course desired.
