We are looking for a Corporate General Counsel to serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board of Directors on a wide range of matters including corporate governance, legal services, rules of ethics, risk mitigation, policy development, and government relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the top legal advisor for the Company
  • Plans and directs all aspects of an organization's legal affairs and ensures all business policies and activities are managed correctly and in compliance with current laws.
  • Reviews changes to law and regulations and advises management about any impact to the business.
  • Advises on legal matters and ensures compliancy to protect company against legal liability.
  • Leading the legal strategy in response to any litigation
  • Ensures that all company communications, contracts, documents, filings and press releases undergo a legal review.
  • May engage and coordinate with outside counsel for certain matters.
  • Facilitating filings of licensing forms, copyright of intellectual property and other statutory requirements

Experience:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Executive-level experience working in risk mitigation, legal, complex business transactions, corporate governance, government relations, employee relations, budgeting, and strategic planning
  • Executive-level experience working with boards of trustees
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Experience with international contracting
